Jane's Map: The Irish Across the Empires, with Historian Jane Ohlmeyer #Shorts

Historian Jane Ohlmeyer (Trinity College Dublin, author of Making Empire) maps her own life, from Zambia to Belfast, Trinity, Oxford and the great libraries of America. Then she maps the Irish across the empires: Spain, France, Denmark and Russia, Barbados and Cuba, Irish soldiers in Tangier, Irish speakers in Maryland, and the frontiers from Mexico to the Philippines.

"Wherever there's an empire, you'll find an Irish person."
