Joseph Mary Plunkett's most famous poem. Plunkett was one of the 7 seven signatories of the 1916 Rising proclamation and as such, forfeited his life in Kilmainham Jail to a firing squad on May 4, 1916 just hours after marrying his beloved Grace Gifford. Plunkett was 28 when he died for his country.
