Aileesh Carew

Aileesh Carew is the CEO and Museum Director of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, located in Dublin's historic Docklands. She joined EPIC in 2016 as Director of Sales and Marketing and was appointed CEO in January 2023, bringing fresh energy and ambition to one of Ireland's most distinctive cultural institutions, dedicated to sharing the story of how the Irish have contributed to communities throughout the world through exhibitions, education programs, and digital engagement.

Carew champions the "world-class" standard set by museum creator Neville Isdell and has been instrumental in building EPIC's brand around a long-term vision rather than short-term tactics.

Aileesh brings a diverse professional background that includes roles at Ballyfin Demesne, the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland, and international hospitality experience, making her a seasoned leader at the intersection of tourism, culture, and marketing. She is also a member of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) Council.

Most recently, she led a €2 million gallery upgrade at EPIC, describing the result as raising "the bar for visitor experiences all over the world" and deepening the emotional connection to Ireland through the stories of its emigrants.
